Wellington Test summary - 10/Jul/2010

Who: Brenda, Callum, Casey, Greer, Christina, Tim, Alastair

Today at the weekly Sugar testing, we tested Open Video Chat on XO 1.5s.
https://fedorahosted.org/OpenVideoChat/

We were able to:
successfully built the application from git
install on XO 1.5 running sugar (someone fill in which version?)
launched the application on an XP
shared with my neighbourhood
see the shared activity from another XO 1.5
join the shared activity
once there are 2 users in the activity, it disappears from the
neighbourhood, and other XOs do not see it.
in the activity, the text chat works great.
We see our own video on the screen.

however, we don't see the other user's video. We see only white space:

We are one hop away from each other over wifi - and there are no
restrictions on TCPIP connections / ports etc.
Is there some debug we should do at this point?

once we exited the activity, the record in journal screen appeared and
works nicely

Testing summary - Wellington New Zealand, 3 July 2010 (sorry very late!)

Who: Alastair, Bex, Peter, Tabitha, Tim, Tom, Grant, Mike, Brenda, Callum, Casey, Paul, Tim, Peter, ummm... stopped recording

Tested os284py on XO-1.0
Installed successfully. Miss the corner hot points for the frame. Seemed a bit sluggish compared with some of the other py builds we have tried.

Attempted to test build 205 on XO-1.5 but fails to install -
The MD5SUM is
f5e2f09997466a22a51c20d7d6357bac os205.zd
I'm not sure if the problem is that my download was corrupt, or if the file is corrupt on the server?

Tested build 126 on XO-1.5
Installed, sorry, got lost and don't know how that went.

Had many visitors today from a school and from MoE. Also some parents were here for a kids party and they asked us to come to their house for a parent and kid session during school holidays! Random. Anyway, we gave them SoaS and our contact details.

Wellington Testing Summary - Saturday 27 February

Who: Alastair, Bex, Brenda, Callum, Casey, Grant, Tanya, Tim

Help-10: Doesn't launch on the XO 1.5 build 110 due to a malformed bundle exception.

WatchMe-2: XO1.5 build 110 launches and allows you to invite others to the activity but once other people join it shows a screen saying that its connecting but never connects.

VisualMatch-8: Numbers Tab: at the end of the game, no high scores are listed, Name makes you think you want to find similar items which confused us for a while.

Poll-2: XO1.5: Can share and vote on polls, works well although voting rules allow the person who started the poll to skew votes by voting as many times as they want.

Speak-11: XO-1 os802b1, trying to use the robot tab causes the sound on the XO to totally disappear until reboot.

Timelapse-2: XO-1: Most of the collection types work well although the one I wanted to try the most "Timelapse collection" doesn't work after setting up to capture an image every 10 seconds and hitting capture after about 1 minute nothing had happened. This activity also spams the Journal with entries, after closing I found there were over 30 new Journal entries.

Wellington Testing Summary - Saturday 20 February

Who: Alastair, Brenda, Callum, Casey, Grant, Bex

Write-47: No longer launches on XO-1 on either os802b1 or os802 builds. When logs were checked it "Import Error: No module named widgets" seemed to be the cause of the failed start.

Minimal testing of XO-1.5 builds 110 and 201, had problems with 110 locking up and becoming totally unresponsive and due to the wifi suspend/resume issue we couldn't use ssh to check the logs after the lockup to see if it was only the XServer or the entire OS.

Testing tasks for this Saturday

We're still working through the Peru activities list, and the Australian activities list. We've been asked to test on sugar 0.82 - but if you have something a little later that's useful too. We'd like to report back on what versions an activity will happily run on.

The shiny new XO 1.5 laptops are in Wellington, waiting to clear customs. - maybe they'll be this saturday's meetup, maybe they won't.

Our "foodforce" testing from last week is recorded here:
http://dev.laptop.org/ticket/9490
and has been assigned to a developer. We'll put back on our testing list in the coming weeks.

Foodforce was developed with funding from the World Food Programme - it's also available for windows and mac (and brenda reports it works great in Linux undre wine).

8.2 Build 767

Sokoban
when you click the little ? in the bottom left corner then close the help, then the keyboard arrow keys don't make the rat move, but if you move the touchpad pointer over the game image then the rat can be moved with the keyboard arrow keys. You can then move the tracpad pointer off the game image after that and the rat can still be moved.

Spacetag
Could not quit from frame or activity. Appears to not be consuming CPU but just won't die.
netdev watchdog: eth0: transmit timed out
